Their Story
OWNER SPOTLIGHT: RICH & NICOLE LENNON
For Rich and Nicole Lennon, the best memories aboard their Gause are the ones they keep making—with family, friends, and another day on the water around Anclote Island.
Rich first noticed Gause Built Boats more than 20 years ago. Today, he and Nicole have one of their own, built around their love of inshore fishing and family trips.
From spotting fish in the tower to keeping the little ones shaded during summer beach days, this is their story, shared in Rich’s own words.
How did you first hear about Gause Built Boats?
I saw them over 20 years ago around Anclote Island and down in Boca Grande during tarpon season. They are the prettiest boat on the water by far.
What made you choose a Gause?
We chose Gause Built because they have the best-looking and best-quality boat for inshore fishing and family trips.
I wanted to upgrade my boat and liked the reputation Gause Built had. The custom options are great. The aesthetic upgrades with paint are great for making the boat a true original.
I picked out a wish list, and the team made it happen.
How do you primarily use your Gause?
Our favorite place to take the boat out is usually around Anclote Island. We use the boat to go out to the beach with family. We can bring the kids out for cookouts, fishing, scallop season, and swimming.
I take the boat out almost every week. A lot of fishing with my wife, Nicole, and various friends and family—typically fishing for snook, redfish, and trout.
What are some of your favorite features?
The canopy in the front is large and provides great shade during the summer for the little ones.
I have a few favorite features. The Seakeeper Ride is ideal. It always keeps the boat even, level, and on plane. No messing around with trim tabs. It’s a great feature.
I really love the tower. It gets you high for a great vantage point to see into the water and spot fish. Even just cruising around, it’s great to be up higher.
What stands out about the way your Gause performs?
It’s an absolute fishing machine for inshore. The tower is great for spotting fish.
The ability to get into skinny, shallow water is a nice benefit around the flats of Tarpon Springs. The Gause floats in about a foot of water.
