Finding the Right Boat

Jason didn’t stumble across his Gause—he hunted for it.

After spending years researching builders like Shaffer, Dorado, Sabalo, and Gause, he knew exactly what he wanted. When a 2005 Gause became available in New Smyrna Beach, he made the drive from Cape Coral and bought it sight unseen.

Originally refreshed by Gause in 2017, the boat had great bones but needed someone willing to give it the attention it deserved.

The moment Jason got behind the wheel, he knew he’d made the right decision.

“It felt big, and I was in awe of how smooth it rode.”

Built to Do It All

Living on Florida’s Gulf Coast, Jason wanted one boat that could comfortably fish offshore when the weather allowed while still handling shallow inshore waters with confidence.

For him, that’s where Gause stands apart.

Whether he’s chasing fish, spending the afternoon at the sandbar, or simply cruising with family, Jason says his Gause does everything he hoped it would.

His wife appreciates the smooth ride, his two daughters have claimed the forward deck as their favorite place to relax in the sun, and the wide gunwales and spacious layout make every outing comfortable for family and friends alike.

When asked about his favorite memory, Jason admitted it’s hard to choose just one.

Every trip creates another story.

But one moment will always stand out—taking his grandson out for his very first boat ride.

It’s a reminder that a Gause isn’t just built to last for decades. It’s built to be shared across generations.

Looking Ahead

Jason says he’s become “obsessed” with the Gause brand.

Rather than replacing his boat, he’s already planning its next chapter: a repower, updated electronics, fresh paint, and a complete refresh.

“The hull is timeless, and I expect many more years of memories to come. A new engine, upgraded electronics, and a fresh coat of paint will have this boat looking as new as the ones rolling off the line today.”

For Jason, this 2005 Gause isn’t just a boat he owns—it’s a boat he’ll continue investing in, enjoying, and passing memories through for years to come.
